Yes, the exoteric (outer) signs, lore, ornamentalia (hee, hee....it that a word?....it should be) of Buddhism there can be a distraction from the inner depth Guatama was pointing everyone towards but, walk the 1200+ steps up to the top of Wat Tamsua, rest your panting chest and spinning forehead against any one of the amazing magical shrines chiming in the never-ending breeze there, close your eyes and just FAAAaaaall inside.
